| A joyous occasion took place in the main hall of the Algonquin Nursing home when, surrounded by family, Mrs Johanna Murphy celebrated her 100th birthday. Attending were great granddaughter Louise and her husband Ron Montreuil, their three daughters, and the younger generation are here at the table. . . |

| Mrs Johanna Murphy is seated here with her great great grandson, grandson of Louise Montreuil. Born March 24, 1901, she was very bright and with a great sense of humour. Proudly a full-blooded Algonquin, she died on June 20, 2001, the International Day of Aboriginals. |
