Students and teachers at the High School
(Mattawa McElligott District School, Secondary Site)
have spent time and effort to build some new
attractions to bring to the children of Mattawa.
One is the Island (in the Mattawa River) which
offers a wide variety of sport that you can take
part in.  Here are some things that are brought
for your enjoyment:

     1 four foot half pipe
     1 four foot quarter pipe
     1 two foot pyramid
All these items are for bmx bikes,
roller blades, and skate boards.

Other things are:
     1 double tennis court,
     1 basket-ball net,
     2 tether ball posts,
     2 horse shoe pits

There are also:
     2 picnic tables with roofs on top
to keep out sun and rain.
     The wide sandy beach was already there.
